Ellyn Davidson
Ellyn Davidson found her passion for the ocean at a young age during family boating adventures on the waters surrounding Vancouver Island. Nearing the end of her combined Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology, Ellyn has perused diverse positions often assuming the leading role. Ellyn’s first co-op position was at the Victoria Harbour Authority as part of the dock crew. She then became the Green Team leader for the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development, promoting a “green” lifestyle within the ministry. Her third position was in Magdeburg, Germany, where she assumed a public health intern position at the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. Combining her experience in leadership and project initiation with her passion for the ocean, ONCCEE is a natural fit. She now encourages post-secondary students to become engaged in ocean science through the addition of new electives and the creation of an ocean student’s society. Her goal is to initiate a means for university students to have access to several opportunities within the field of marine sciences: professional development, K-12 mentoring, networking, and interdisciplinary action.
